Any knitter should own a chunky beanie! This one was made with the leftover yarn, from Deima's bouclé cardigan, held together with a bit of silk/mohair yarn and a soft and warm blow yarn. These together gives the perfect, chunky and warm feeling, just what you need for this type of beanie!
Deima’s bouclé beanie is knit from the bottom and up, first in a double rib stitch and the rest in stockinette, which is turned inside out to show the backside for a more structured look. A very beginners friendly and quick project, easy to make in lots of other yarn qualities you might like.
Yarn: 1 strand of Bouclé from Mohair by Canard, 1 strand of Air from Drops, and 1 strand of Tilia from Filcolana (shown in the colors Rosa/1038 in Bouclé and '24' in Air, and 321 in Tilia)
Gauge: 10 stitches x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in double rib, on needle EU 7 mm.
Recommended needle size: Needle 7 mm, 40 and 80 cm.
Sizes: One size
Yarn total: 1 skein Bouclé, 1 ball Tilia, 1 ball Air
TIP: Remember to do a gauge swatch before your start, to make sure you end up with a hat that is the right size. If you get too many stitches on your swatch, you must go up a needle size, and if there are less than 10 stitches of 10 cm, you must go down a needle size.
