Deima's HOODIE
Before balaclavas were a thing, I created the Deima hoodie, and because balaclavas was primarily for little children, this style felt more safe as a more oversized adult version of the hat - a hoodie, like one you have attached to your sweater, but warm around the neck and made of wool. That's how the Hoodie was made, and it's been a staple and favorite ever since!
The hoodie is the perfect combination of the perfect turtleneck sweater, and a fluffy hat. Wear it up when on your bike, taking your daily walks with a stroller or your dog, and take it down when you're inside shopping or on the warmer days, when you just want to keep your neck warm. This will honestly be your next obsession.
Info
Deima's Hoodie is knitted from the bottom up, with a 1x1 rib and a broken rib stitch pattern throughout, and finally added rib trim around the face opening.
Yarn: 2 strands Alice by Permin held together
Gauge: 14 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm in the broken rib stitch Recommended needles: 7 mm circular needle (60 cm cable) and 5 mm needle (80 cm circular needle or 4 double-pointed needles) Sizes: Onesize
Yarn total: 100 g Alice from Permin Suggested yarns: Air by Drops, Puno by Gepard, Kos by Sandnes, Puno by Rauma = all types of Alpaca based 'blow' yarn will do, as long as you get the gauge right. If your yarn is a bit thicker, go for one strand and a strand of silk/mohair instead of two, or go down a needle size or two. The hoodie will be a bit more compact, but that just makes it even warmer!
!!! most pictures on this website and on Deima's instagram page of our Hoodie are quite a few years old, and so are the yarns and colors, and we will therefore not neccessarily be able to help you with finding the exact same one.
The pattern is digital and will be available to download immediatly after purchase.
Happy knitting!
